On the cover: a Minton pâte-sur-pâte paperweight designed by Marc-Louis-Emmanuel Solon, 1878, 6½" (16.51 cm) h., signed L. Solon. This paperweight was one of two Solon paperweights exhibited by Minton at the 1878 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The two pâte-surpâte paperweights have now been reunited, as described by Jeffrey Tulman in an article commencing on page 15.
