On the cover: A Wedgwood centerpiece, the lilac dip and white jasper bowl supported by a faun and a nymph in the Parian body. This piece was modeled for Wedgwood by the French sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-87) and made about 1866. Impressed WEDGWOOD mark, 17" (45.2 cm) h., 17" (43.2 cm) w.
